Tibialis Anterior Dysfunction Tendonitis
Tibialis Anterior functions to lift the foot and ankle upwards during gait. Over time the tibialis anterior tendon can undergo wear and tear and become painful along the length of the tendon.
This pain is often felt at night when the foot and ankle is in a resting position with the toes pointing downwards. This puts the tendon under stretch and cause the tendon to develop tendonitis.
Conservative management may include:
- Custom foot orthoses with medial arch support
- Supportive footwear
- Leafspring Ankle Foot Orthosis
- Night splint
