Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Support
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a painful disorder caused by pressure on the median nerve which runs through the carpal tunnel of the wrist area.
Symptoms can include numbness, pins and needles and pain (particularly at night).
Repetitive hand movements (i.e. digging, sweeping, working at a checkout), pregnancy and arthritis of the wrist can be the cause of carpal tunnel.
Conservative management may include a custom made or pre-fabricated Wrist Hand Orthosis (WHO) which immobilises all wrist movement, whilst allowing free finger and thumb range of motion.
This reduces pain and may allow the inflamed tissues to recover, reducing pressure on the median nerve.
To determine the most appropriate treatment for you, we recommend booking an initial consultation to discuss your concerns in more detail.
